Loving Pears (pictured right)

The pear, considered the 'The Fruit of Earthly Desire' was sacred to Venus the Goddess of Love. An aphrodisiac, pears are said to enhance lust and passion by stimulating the Sacral Chakra.

In the Middle Ages, it was believed that eating a pear would immediately induce sexual arousal.

In ancient Egypt, the pear was sacred to Isis.

In Christian symbolism the pear frequently appears in connection with Christ's Love for Mankind.

In many parts of the world the pear symbolizes the Human Heart which it can resemble, and thus it has become a symbol of Love and Tenderness.
